In-House Construction Incursion – Cert II in Construction Pathways

Today, we had the privilege of hosting Nigel and Andrew from NEVC, who introduced our students to the Certificate II in Construction Pathways as a potential option for our Year 11 and 12 students.

As part of the incursion, our boys participated in a hands-on workshop, constructing a 2×2 metre frame structure complete with door and window openings. The session gave them valuable exposure to trade tools, safety requirements, and the practical skills needed to build a structure from the ground up. It was an exciting and rewarding experience, and the pride on our students’ faces said it all.

Opportunities like this give our students a real taste of the trades and open pathways for those who may wish to enrol in the course next year while completing their SACE. We are proud of our Year 10 and 11 boys for their hard work and enthusiasm during the session.

Here’s a link to the video from the activity – look at those proud faces!
