Teaching Positions for 2022

1 FULL-TIME position – Digital Technology (Years 7 – 10) with Math & Science (Years 7 & 8) – Applications closed.


1 (FTE 0.4) position – secondary lote (arabic) and Quran studies – Applications closed.


Full-time (1 year contract commencing from 27th january 2022 with a possibility of an extension to the following year)

The exciting opportunities exists for professionals and highly motivated individuals to join our passionate and committed teaching team. Garden College is an Islamic school with over 300 enrolments from Reception to Year 12. Our teaching team strives to learn and grow together and support each other’s unique gifts and talents so that we can best meet the needs of our students and their families.

It is expected that applicant will:

  • Be registered to teach in South Australia holding current Responding to Abuse and Neglect, First Aid
  • Be happy to work in a Muslim Faith-based school
  • Demonstrate and maintain a strong commitment to the ethos and values of Garden College
  • Understand and demonstrate the importance of positive and productive relationships with students and their families
  • Be able to maintain control of students through the effective yet fair application of behaviour management strategies in line with the school’s Behaviour Management Policy
  • Be open to change and approach challenges with flexibility, possessing a growth mindset
  • Show a genuine love, concern, and devotion to meeting the needs of students from diverse backgrounds
  • Demonstrate a capacity to receive feedback and make necessary adjustments to modify practice where necessary

SKILLS, Attributes & responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate knowledge of, and experience in, the use of the Australian Curriculum and SACE.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of, and experience in, embedding inquiry-based teaching pedagogies into the learning program
  • Possess high level organisational skills
  • Use IT confidently and competently for day-to-day teaching and learning, planning, assessment, administration, and reporting
  • Demonstrate a capacity to adapt teaching strategies and plans to suit diverse needs and learning styles
  • Prepare clear and suitable year, term and weekly lesson overviews and plans
  • Keep accurate records of student achievement and provide suitable reports to parents
  • Timely and appropriate communication with parents/caregivers

Salary

Renumeration will be based upon the successful applicant’s level of experience as specified in the current Garden College Salaries and Conditions.
